Oko

Oko is an elegant lounge chair inspired by the curves of a cocoon. The pillowy seat and backrest invite you to sink in, while a rigid back panel supports the shape and doubles as a decorative element. Sophisticated material combinations, including fabric, leather, and wood (for the back panel), enhance the design’s versatility.

Function

Oko lends a residential feel to corporate and hospitality environments, including lobbies, hotels, and executive suites. Oko was designed with sustainability in mind. The seat and back cushions are engineered to be easily removed and reupholstered, making it easy to keep the chair looking its best for years to come.

Designed by LucidiPevere

Paolo Lucidi and Luca Pevere move fluidly between design fields, reinterpreting materials and technologies and applying them in unexpected ways. “You have to innovate and say something interesting,” says Lucidi of what comprises a successful piece. Based in Milan, LucidiPevere design lighting, furniture, ceramics, textiles, and small home goods, with each partner presenting to the client his own response to the brief. The pair then collaborate on the winning proposal, refining it until it reaches fruition. Explains Pevere of the approach: “When you work for eight hours on the curve of a shell, you can’t tell the right direction. That’s when having two people helps you make the best decision.”
