Delanco, NJ (June, 2009) – Designed for cafeteria/café use, Luna combines lightweight stackability and superior durability with a fresh, pleasing appearance. Luna chairs were introduced in 2007 as a clear, clean statement embodying simple poise and graceful utility for commercial, institutional, or university dining and relaxed meeting.

Now, Stylex is expanding the Luna product line to include stackable bar-height and counter height-stools. Luna stools are designed with the same attention to component geometry and form as the original Luna chair.

Luna is produced using an innovative process developed in Europe that uses clear overlays to create a very hard, impermeable surface. The clear overlay, combined with a laminate or veneer sheet, is highly moldable, providing extremely strong, yet thin components. Unlike veneers, the surface is scratch-resistant for years of trouble-free use. Further, the overlay process is more cost efficient and environmentally neutral than conventional finishing as it eliminates the need for staining and lacquering.

Luna chairs and stools were designed to encompass environmental considerations. Aside from its inherent durability delivering great product longevity, Luna’s light weight imposes minimal demands in the way of raw materials – steel containing post- and pre-consumer content, PEFC-certified chain of custody birch veneers, and a recyclable plastic seat pan.

Conceived by Komplott Design, simplicity, utility, and comfort describe the Luna form. The chair and stool models are available with either laminate or veneer under the clear overlay. An upholstered seat cushion option is also available. Ten powder coat finishes, as well as chrome, are available for the frames.
