The Chicago Athenaeum has been recognizing innovative design for over 50 years and selects its winners from hundreds of international entrants. Past participants include Eero Saarinen, Charles and Ray Eames, Alexander Girard, George Nelson, Florence Knoll, Harry Bretoia, Finn Juhl, and Russel Wright.

Luna is the concept of the Danish firm, Komplot Design, the same firm that designed Avo, which also won a GOOD DESIGN™for 2006 as well as a NeoCon Silver the year of its introduction.
